Did you know that Mindful Eating can help rebalance your gut-brain connection?

Have you ever suffered with persistent bloating, IBS, and digestive issues that, despite many visit to your GP and all clear lab tests, still persist?

Are you dreading social occasions because you don't know how your is going to react?

Here is how Mindful Eating can help you break the anxiety loop and reset your gut-brain connection.

  1. Slow down before you eat. Being in a rush while eating means being in the “fight or flight” nervous system that impair digestion and food absorption.
  2. Connect to your senses.“Feel” the food you eat. Connect with your senses, and savour the aroma, the texture, the flavour and the colours of your meal. Being in the “present” reduces stress.
  3. Walk around the block. A 10-min walk can help lower your blood sugar level, AND improve your digestion by facilitating your “peristalsis” those autonomic contractions of your digestive system that push the food down your digestive tract.
  4. Avoid stressful conversations or digital contacts ( including social media) in the 30-min after your meal.
  5. Share and connect: Eat your meal with someone you love or that lift your spirit.
  6. Breathe with your nose. Mouth breathing while eating can facilitate pushing air down your digestive tract, contributing to bloating and gas formation.
  7. Eat food that you enjoy. Eating food that you can “look forward too” helps digestion, because your body will make more enzyme to help breaking down: literally the “mouthwatering” feeling. It also help forming healthier connection with your dopamine and reward pathway in the brain.
  8. Stretch and relax. Trauma and tensions are stored in the body. Yoga stretches and somatic movement can help release tension in the pelvis and abdominal area.
  9. Breathwork or pranayama. Some breathing techniques help calm the nervous system acting the vagus nerve, the main connection between the gut and the brain.

This is what a recent client has to say about working with me...

"I have benefited hugely from working with Claudia and I would recommend her to anyone looking to improve their gut health. Having developed problems with my digestion, possibly after an infection, I was feeling really uncomfortable and not good in myself. Over six sessions, Claudia helped me to reset, gradually building up my knowledge and giving me practical tools as well as really clear guidance about foods and othe rpractices that support good gut health. The improvement has been significant and I can’t thanks her enough for helping me get back to feeling well in myself
