Ford have had a very interesting idea on how to improve reliability of EV chargers around L.A. They are going to introduce "Charge Angels", these "Angels" will be Ford employees driving around in specially equiped Ford Mach-e's going from chargepoint to chargepoint checking them to find out why these chargepoints are failing.
Ford’s general manager of electric vehicles Darren Palmer said:
"All they’ll do all day long is go and check them to see where they fail and why.”
“There are a lot of plugs out there, but some of them are old and they don’t have the quality or reliability we want,” Palmer said. “Over 99.5 percent of customers go into a charger and get a charge. We’re pleased about that.”
Its great to see big companies like Ford spending their money and resources on making sure the switch to EV is as smooth as possible.
Are you lucky enough to already own an EV? Or are you thinking about getting one?
